Study of antibacterial effects of Anvillea garcini occurring in south of Iran

The purpose of this study was to test flower and leaf extracts against some gram-positive and gram -negetive bacteria. Two different microbial tests were performed; extract antibiogram, and determination of MIC (minimum inhibitory concentration) of extracts. The results showed that antimicrobial activities of extracts were notable on a wide spread of bacterias, especially on the choosen bacteria. Working tables and details are available in the original paper. Plant oils and extracts have been used for a wide variety of purposes for many thousands of years. This study confirms that many plant extracts and essential oils posses in vitro antibacterial activity.
